Despite leaving to join their London rivals Chelsea, Joe Cole still appears to be a legend at West Ham United.
It was at Upton Park where the midfielder first made his name. He made 141 appearances in all competitions for the Hammers after making his debut during the 1998/1999 season, with him making the move to Stamford Bridge at the start of Roman Abramovich’s reign.
He did return to West Ham, making an extra 39 appearances between 2012 and 2014, but it was during that first spell where he was at his best for the club. Of course, he came up through the youth system with the Irons, and on Sunday, the club’s official Twitter account shared a video of him scoring in the Milk Cup before he burst onto the scene at the highest level.
Is Joe Cole a West Ham legend?

Wish Joey had have stayed at West Ham. I reckon he would have been an even better player allowed to play with flair at West Ham.

Only ever had one player name on any (of loads) of hammers tops…Joey Cole. Absolute baller. Extremely under rated player, great pundit now too. Would love to see him back at the club in future.
