West Ham United: Fans laud Trevor Sinclair over transfer comments - West Ham News

Plenty of West Ham fans have hailed former Irons player Trevor Sinclair over comments that he made on talkSPORT.

In an interview shared by @whufc_news on Twitter, the 47-year-old said that Hammers manager David Moyes needs transfer funds to sign a centre-back and fears for their survival prospects after they lost their first two games and have a tough set of fixtures coming up. He also lamented the club’s sale of Grady Diangana, who he described as “the best winger they’ve got”, to West Brom for a reported £12m.

Later in the interview, Sinclair took aim at the club’s owners, who had promised fans “a world-class stadium with a world-class team” upon moving to London Stadium four years ago but have only once finished in the top half since then. He told talkSPORT presenter Jim White that West Ham “need to add to that squad or else it’s going to be very uncomfortable” for them this season.

The only signing made by the Irons with less than two weeks remaining in the transfer window is a permanent deal for Tomas Soucek, who was on loan at the club last term, while this week saw them end their lengthy and unsuccessful pursuit of Burnley defender James Tarkowski.

Joint-club owner David Sullivan, who has faced strong criticism from many West Ham fans, told talkSPORT that he “cannot say for sure we are going to sign anybody” and added: “As each day passes, I get more depressed.”
