The Lowdown: West Ham back to winning ways…
Italy international Gianluca Scamacca continued his fine run of form in all competitions with his first goal in the English top flight as he opened the scoring for West Ham. The 23-year-old made it four goals in total since arriving in the summer from Sassuolo, and WhoScored man of the match Jarrod Bowen made it 2-0 soon after the start of the second half to seal all three points for the Irons.
West Ham saw out the victory and got some deserved points on the board, just the antidote that Moyes needed after a turbulent September.
The Latest: Journalist criticises Paqueta…
Despite the 25-year-old putting in a fairly solid shift, journalist Joshua Mbu has criticised marquee acquisition Paqueta for one aspect of his play at the moment.
Indeed, the Brazil international appears to be growing accustomed to English football and often takes too much time in possession.
When discussing Paqueta’s display, Mbu explained: “Not bad. But definitely still getting used to the league. Takes too much time on the ball at times.”
The Verdict: Bedding in…
Despite Paqueta having starred for Lyon last season, life in the Premier League often takes some bedding in for stars from overseas.
This appears to be the case for the 25-year-old, who lost the possession 11 times against Wolves but did win the majority of his overall duels in a mixed display (SofaScore).
There may be facets of his game to keep working on, but hopefully Paqueta will look every bit a £50m player as the season progresses.
