The Lowdown: Still trying
West Ham are reportedly still trying to sign Moffi, despite already capturing fellow striker Danny Ings from Aston Villa.
Gianluca Scamacca’s injury has made them try to accelerate a deal, but with only a week of the transfer window remaining, time is running out for the Hammers to get this over the line.
The Latest: Moffi not keen on West Ham
Speaking to GiveMeSport, Taylor says that Moffi is ‘actually not too keen’ on moving to the London Stadium and is ‘quite happy’ at Lorient, and if he were to move, he would prefer to join Nice, another club facts have been linked with his signature:
“From what I’m told on Moffi, he’s not actually too keen on joining West Ham. He’s quite happy at Lorient and if he was to move, he’d be open to joining Nice more so than West Ham – although he is interested in a Premier League move.”
The Verdict: Worrying
The latest update from Taylor is certainly worrying for Irons supporters, as it sounds like the club could miss out on Moffi.
His 12 goals in Ligue 1 so far this season is only bettered by PSG and France superstar Kylian Mbappe, and has been described as an ‘excellent finisher’ and ‘explosive talent’ by journalist Robin Bairner.
The six-foot-two colossus is also light on his feet, ranking in the 83rd percentile for dribbles completed per game of all forwards in Europe’s top five leagues over the past year.
Nonetheless, David Moyes’ team have been goal-shy in the Premier League so far this term, with just 17 goals scored in their opening 20 games, making them the joint-fourth lowest scorers in the division, and so could do with some extra firepower to try and push them away from the relegation zone.
However, it looks as if they will have to move on to other targets given this news on Moffi.
