West Ham: Insider shares crucial Vladimir Coufal exit update

West Ham United supporters have been handed a crucial update amid exit rumours surrounding Vladimir Coufal.
The Lowdown: On the move?
The Czech Republic international quickly earned popularity in east London after a brilliant 2020/21 debut season in the Premier League.
Alongside compatriot Tomas Soucek, the 30-year-old endeared himself to both manager David Moyes and the Hammers faithful with a string of consistent performances in claret and blue.
While you could that argue his performances have waned somewhat since then, Coufal still appears to be a valued member of West Ham’s squad, starting half of their top-flight matches so far this season.
The Latest: Coufal rumours emerge…
Recently, Sky Deutschland claimed (via Claret & Hugh) that officials from Bayer Leverkusen were on their way to West Ham to try and instigate a deal for Coufal.
The Bundesliga side are reportedly ready to swoop for the defender, with a club insider now sharing what they’ve heard on the situation.
Sharing crucial news from an ‘ever-reliable source’ of theirs, Claret & Hugh have moved to quash this exit rumour.
The source in question explained: “We have heard nothing whatsoever from any club in Germany or anywhere else.”
The Verdict: Good news…
Moyes needs depth in his West Ham squad now more than ever if the 59-year-old is to turn things around at the London Stadium.
The ever-congested fixture calendar as a result of the World Cup has arguably resulted in more injuries and more absences, with fellow right-back Ben Johnson having been sidelined at various points this season.
The last thing that West Ham need is a capable senior figure like Coufal leaving the squad mid-season, so this update should come as music to the ears of Irons supporters despite some of the recent criticism which has come his way.
