West Ham United have reportedly made contact with the representatives of Lorient forward Terem Moffi.

The Lowdown: Moffi profiled

The 23-year-old is primarily a left-footed centre-forward who can also play out wide.

The Nigeria international appears to be at the top of his game with a career-high Transfermarkt valuation and has been in fine form in front of goal.

Lauded as 'incredible' by football talent scout Jacek Kulig, Moffi has netted 10 Ligue 1 goals in 16 appearances, taking his senior career goal tally to 61.

The Latest: West Ham interest

The Daily Mail shared news on Moffi in the last 48 hours, claiming that Southampton are keen on the attacker’s services.

The report states that they could face competition from the Hammers, who have already ‘spoken’ to the 23-year-old's representatives over a potential move to the London Stadium.

The Verdict: One to watch?

It seems as if it could be a shootout between the Saints and West Ham in regards to Moffi, making this one to watch in the coming days and weeks.

You can see why the Irons' new sporting director Mark Noble has launched a first move for the forward, though, with David Moyes’ side scoring just 15 Premier League goals in 18 games so far this term.

Moffi has found the net with ease in recent years, as evidenced by his goal record, and would provide Moyes with another high-quality option up front, while also being able to play out wide if required.
