West Ham: Insider drops David Moyes update

West Ham: Insider drops David Moyes update - Premier League News

West Ham United manager David Moyes is ‘100 per cent safe’ in his job despite a poor start to the new Premier League season, according to Hammers insider Claret and Hugh.

The Lowdown: Sack rumours

The 59-year-old still has two years remaining on his contract at the London Stadium, but rumours are swirling that his position has recently come under threat after a disappointing opening to the 2022/23 campaign.

The Irons currently find themselves sitting in the relegation zone after taking just four points from 21 (one win and a draw), though it sounds as if GSBK aren’t considering making a change in the dugout quite yet.

The Latest: Moyes set to stay

According to insider Claret and Hugh, reporting in the last 48 hours, West Ham have ‘no plans either now or in the future’ to sack Moyes, who is ‘100 per cent safe’ in his job.

A source close to the Irons has reportedly made it clear that the club believe there is nobody else ‘better equipped to turn things around’, and will be given ‘plenty of time’ to prove them right.

The Verdict: Right decision

Whilst the Hammers are in a very worrying position after seven games, the board’s decision to keep Moyes at the helm is the correct one.

The Scot has won 68 and drawn 34 of his 162 matches in charge in the capital (Transfermarkt), and was responsible for his team’s introduction to the Europa League.

Can you name all of these forgotten West Ham flops...who is this Allardyce signing?

The Glasgow-born man knows his squad of players inside out and if there’s anyone who can figure out a way to start getting the best out of them again, it’s Moyes.
