West Ham: David Moyes personally wants Isaiah Jones signing

West Ham: David Moyes personally wants Isaiah Jones signing -Exclusive

West Ham United manager David Moyes personally ‘sees something’ in Middlesbrough forward Isaiah Jones, says Pete O’Rourke.

The Lowdown: Hammers make transfer plans?

The Hammers backed Moyes with a summer of spending, completing deals for a plethora of major signings ahead of the 2022/2023 Premier League season.

West Ham reached agreements for Alphonse Areola, Nayef Aguerd, Flynn Downes, Gianluca Scamacca, Maxwel Cornet, Thilo Kehrer, Emerson Palmieri and club record signing Lucas Paqueta – spending a total £158 million.

However, despite their significant investment, Moyes’ side haven’t exactly started this campaign with the gusto supporters were hoping for. The east Londoners have won just four out of their opening 13 games whilst scoring just 11 goals in that time (premierleague.com), potentially highlighting the need for some more attacking flair.

The Latest: Moyes personally eyeing Jones move…

Speaking exclusively to The Transfer Tavern, journalist O’Rourke has claimed that Moyes ‘sees something’ in Boro forward Jones.

West Ham have been linked with a move for the 23-year-old in recent months and the reporter suggests Moyes may well be personally eyeing a move to bring him to east London.

When asked about Jones, he explained:

“So, obviously David Moyes sees something in there he thinks could improve his West Ham side right now.”

The Verdict: Move forward?

As per WhoScored, the ‘incredible‘ attacker, as described by journalist Josh Bunting, is actually one of Boro’s best-performing players by average match rating and is among their best for key passes made and completed dribbles per 90.

The Englishman would also bolster West Ham’s homegrown crop whilst adding some more creativity in the final third for Moyes’ side. The Irons will be eagerly awaiting a price tag with no reports yet mentioning how much he cost in January or next summer.
