West Ham: Fans react as Jeremy Ngakia contract talks continue

According to Claret and Hugh, West Ham insist that Ngakia negotiations are going right down to the wire. The club have specifically asked the youngster what he wants in order to agree a new deal.
Earlier this week, ExWHUemployee was speaking on the West Ham Way podcast and claimed that Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace are keeping tabs on the Irons youngster.
Ngakia has only played four times for the Hammers in the Premier League, but he looked to have impressed in his 360 minutes of top flight football, per Transfermarkt, as before football was postponed, he was the number one choice right back at the London Stadium.
However earlier this month, the 19 year-old refused to accept a new contract and is set to become a free agent. It seems like David Moyes really wants him to stay if talks are still ongoing, but some supporters seem to be willing to let him go due to the fact they are unsure whether he wants to play for the club anymore.
But there are also some who are desperate for the young talent to remain in east London and these fans were happy to hear that negotiations were still ongoing.
Here is what they said following the news:

if he doesn’t want to play for us, tell him to do one

He is concerned about playing time, that’s pretty much it. The contract offered was based on appearances and obviously concern about playing time will make that sort of contract less attractive. He played for us on Saturday and could be in line to start against Wolves 👍🏻

Not sure I believe that but at least there is some sort of positive news

I would imagine what he wants is WHU to give him the RB position over Fredericks & no new RB to be signed.
Otherwise, I would assume he would have signed already. Lets be honest would any of us trust this board to do what they say without it being contractual https://t.co/HtKbfxhkwm

Personally hope this is true because it would be a massive positive if we kept him. Don’t wanna see us consistently building young players, not giving them enough of a chance and letting them leave. Hopefully we can finally start to invest in a young squad for the long term. https://t.co/fnaNddLx2I
