West Ham are ready to try again in their pursuit of Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri, according to The Daily Mail.

The Hammers were heavily linked with a move for En-Nesyri in the summer and reportedly made a €40m offer for the Nike-sponsored striker. As we know, a move to the London Stadium failed to materialise, something which Sevilla later regretted.

The 25-year-old has netted twice at the World Cup for his country and is preparing for a third-place playoff against Croatia in what has been a hugely impressive tournament for Morocco.

The Latest: West Ham update

The Daily Mail shared a story in the last 48 hours, looking at 10 World Cup players who are on the shortlists of Premier League clubs heading into January.

One of those was En-Nesyri, with the report claiming that the Hammers, and therefore by extension GSB, ‘are ready to try again for a man who can add a new dimension to their attack.’

The Verdict: Needed

David Moyes’ side have netted just 12 times in 15 Premier League games so far this season, which highlights how signing another attacker could be of use in the New Year.

You’d expect that En-Nesyri will be full of confidence following his displays in Qatar, something that he could carry over into 2023, possibly with West Ham.

It’ll be interesting to see how much Sevilla may want to part ways with their left-footed star who Kevin Campbell labelled ‘skilful’, especially as he has started just twice in La Liga this season.
