As confirmed by David Moyes, West Ham will be without Vladimir Coufal for their home clash against Wolves this afternoon alongside fellow defenders Angelo Ogbonna and Arthur Masuaku.

The Lowdown: Injuries mounting?

The Hammers have had to contend without colossal centre-back Ogbonna already this season after the Italian underwent knee surgery in November.

The 33-year-old, who was a mainstay in Moyes' side before injury sttuck, has arguably been a sorely missed presence given his "outstanding" performances earlier this season.

Meanwhile, West Ham have also had to make do without left-wing back Masuaku due to his own knee problem, with Moyes now confirming yet another blow involving Coufal.

The Latest: West Ham without Coufal...

Speaking to the press, the West Ham manager has confirmed that his side will also be without the Czech Republic international for today's clash with Wolves.

When asked about the latest team news, Moyes confirmed (via football.london)"We are okay, Vladimir Coufal had a hernia operation in midweek and will be out for a few weeks, other than that Angelo Ogbonna with his cruciate and Masuaku with a knee injury which we are trying to get him back other than that not too bad."

The Verdict: Blow for Moyes...

Despite question marks surrounding Coufal's form in parts, Moyes and the club believe that his fitness issue has been a big part of that.

Regardless, the 29-year-old has still managed to average the third-most crosses per 90 out of West Ham's squad this season, proving to be an outlet from the flanks. He has also managed the joint-fourth most assists for Moyes' side, on par with Aaron Cresswell, who has been widely praised for his performances throughout the campaign.

Also, Coufal's brilliant form over 2020/21 is no secret and even more evidence of his quality. Indeed, speaking to the Super Six Podcast, as transcribed by HITC, Stuart Pearce raved over the Czech ace and his compatriot Tomas Soucek, branding them both 'sensational'.

He could certainly be a miss for Moyes today, and Irons fans will surely be hoping that the defender can fully recover soon in order to add more depth and quality in that position.
