West Ham Fan TV presenter Dan Lawless has been left fuming with David Moyes for his persistent overlooking of Said Benrahma for West Ham.

The Lowdown: West Ham continue to struggle

The Hammers' most recent defeat resulted in them dropping into the relegation zone as the threat of dropping into the Championship became very real.

West Ham are simply struggling to be creative enough in the final third and aren't scoring enough goals, as against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, they managed just one shot on target and have scored just 19 goals this term, which is the third-lowest in the division.

Their fortunes may have been different thus far had Benrahma been afforded more than just 12 league starts, as it recently emerged that outside of the 'big six' Premier League clubs, he has been the most creative player - something Lawless reacted to on Twitter.

The Latest: Benrahma is West Ham's creative spark

Lawless was left far from happy as a stat emerged suggesting Benrahma should perhaps be getting more game time under Moyes, with the Algerian creating 2.08 chances per 90 minutes, which is by far and away the best outside of the six so-called top-flight heavyweights.

He said: "Benrahma far ahead of everyone else for chances created yet gets regularly dropped. No wonder we are struggling for goals."

The Verdict: Moyes must deploy his most in-form players

It's quite bizarre that Moyes has not afforded Benrahma anywhere near enough minutes and starts this season when he's putting up numbers such as those mentioned above as he could have helped elevate them away from the bottom three.

Benrahma was signed for big money in 2021, costing West Ham £20m, but he's failed to be handed enough minutes to showcase his talents, though he has not displayed what he's capable of, with just 25 goal involvements in the Premier League.

However, when he is performing at these levels and creating more chances than other West Ham players, Moyes surely needs to find a way of getting him in the team most weeks if he wants to have a good chance of keeping his job and ensuring West Ham stay in the top flight.
