West Ham United manager David Moyes has shared an update on goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski after his injury against Nottingham Forest.

The Lowdown: Hammers dealt Coufal blow...

The Hammers already had an injury to contend with after their 4-0 Premier League win over Forest with defender Vladimir Coufal picking up a heel problem.

Slavia Prague's former star had been the subject of various reports claiming he is a major doubt for today's FA Cup clash with high-flying Man United.

Now, as Moyes shares the team news ahead of this evening, he confirms that Coufal is set to miss tonight - but the Czech Republic international isn't alone on the sidelines.

The Latest: Fabianski also set to miss Man United...

Speaking to the media, West Ham's head coach says their number one goalkeeper will also be missing the fifth round tie at Old Trafford.

Sharing news on Fabianski, he explained:

"We’ve got a squad available and ready to go, but we’ve got a few injuries.

"Łukasz Fabiański has got a fractured cheekbone and eye socket. We’ve not got everything decided in terms of whether it will be operated on, or if we allow it to heal itself, but that’s the update on Łukasz."

The Verdict: Blow for Moyes...

Being without Fabianski after what appears to be a serious injury is a blow for Moyes, not just for tonight, but potentially much further on in the season.

The former Poland international is still an ever-present in West Ham's starting eleven - having started all 24 of their top flight matches this season.

Despite reaching the twilight phase of his career, Fabianski has still very much been a major part of Moyes' plans, with the 37-year-old possessing invaluable experience at football's highest level.

Called 'top class' by members of the media, the 6 foot 3 ace will be a sore miss.
