The 26-year-old was substituted in the 74th minute after being fairly ineffective during the game, despite coming up against the Reds’ rookie centre-back Nathaniel Phillips. Sofascore recorded that he failed to register a shot on goal, did not dribble past an opposing player and only completed five accurate passes.
Haller was a big-money signing made by the club back in the summer of 2019 for a club record £45m. During that time, he has scored 12 goals and provided three assists from 42 appearances (TransferMarkt).
Former Hammers great Bobby Zamora previously suggested that his teammates have approached him and said that Haller is not physical enough and is “too soft and must toughen up” (per Sky Sports, cited by Hammers.News).
Should Haller be sold?
As a result, these supporters were not impressed with the “wasted talent” and some even believe that his time at the London Stadium should be brought to a swift end.
Fans fume at Sebastien Haller
Haller has been poor, sadly. Just hasn’t put himself about enough at all

We’d have been better off starting Randolph up front! Haller looks disinterested #LIVWHU

Haller has to be the laziest player I’ve ever seen! Makes Freddie Piquionne work rate look like Kante #LIVWHU

Haller looks completely uninterested (again)

Haller out please. He doesn’t even compete for header.

I don't like writing players off but Haller has proved to be a total flop. Yes I know we have not played to his strengths but equally he has not tried to adapt to our style of play
