West Ham United would 'love' to do Deadline Day loan deals for Conor Gallagher and Armando Broja, journalist Paul Brown has told GiveMeSport.

The lowdown

Both players are back at Chelsea after successful loan spells in the Premier League last season.

Gallagher spent the year at Crystal Palace, winning their Player of the Season award; while Broja built up his experience at Southampton, finishing the season as their second-highest scorer in all competitions with nine goals.

The former has started two of the Blues' first four matches this term, but the latter seems to be further down the pecking order, having played just 39 minutes so far.

The latest

Brown says that West Ham haven't given up of doing temporary deals for the Chelsea duo before the transfer window shuts at 11pm.

He told GiveMeSport: “West Ham would definitely still love to bring in Conor Gallagher and/or Broja from Chelsea up front, but I think those kind of deals are only possible really on loan,” he said.

The verdict

David Moyes would like a new right-back in before the transfer deadline, but it seems that he's also keen to strengthen other departments . However, these look like difficult deals for West Ham to pull off.

In the case of Gallagher, it looks like he'll play an integral role in Thomas Tuchel's plans for the upcoming season, so Chelsea may be reluctant to sanction another loan for the 22-year-old.

While the Blues may theoretically be more open to letting Broja move, it could be hard for West Ham to convince the Albanian to move across London. That's because they already have Michail Antonio and £35.5m summer signing Gianluca Scamacca in their centre-forward ranks.

The 20-year-old might be concerned that his game-time would remain limited even after a change of scenery, so the Hammers' chances of signing him before 11pm appear decidedly slim.
