According to Daily Star journalist Paul Brown, Armando Broja is ‘the one that West Ham want’ this summer.

The Lowdown: West Ham bid for Broja

David Moyes has already bolstered his attacking ranks with the £35.5m signing of Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca, but there’s still a chance he could bring in further frontline additions before September 1.

The Irons were credited with an interest in the 20-year-old Broja after an impressive season out on loan at Southampton from Premier League giants Chelsea.

Sky Sports claimed last month that the Hammers had made a £30m bid for the striker, but talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook later revealed that the Blues had simply ignored the offer rather than rejecting it to give themselves time to assess their options.

The Latest: Decision time for Broja

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Brown insisted that Broja is West Ham’s number one target this window, but any move will be dependent on how talks go with Chelsea in the weeks ahead.

“I think Broja is the one that West Ham want. They’re not the only team in for him, but everyone is waiting to see what he decides to do by the end of the window.

“He’s clearly going to need to have another discussion with the Chelsea manager to decide his future.”

The Verdict: Get it done

Even with the addition of Scamacca, that still only leaves Moyes with the Italian and Michail Antonio as his natural recognised forwards, and Broja would be the perfect player to come in and create a superb attacking trio.

Last season, the 6 foot 2 starlet netted nine goals and provided one assist in all competitions for the Saints, with two of those contributions coming against the Hammers, via Transfermarkt.

Considering Broja is still at such a young age, he would be a wonderful signing for the future of the club and could help take the Irons to a whole new level if he fulfils his 'devastating' potential.
