West Ham United left-back Emmanuel Longelo could be set to leave the club this summer, according to ExWHUemployee.

The Lowdown: Forest move prevented

The 21-year-old is an integral part of the Irons’ U23s side, but has yet failed to make an impact on the senior first-team and the Premier League.

Nottingham Forest came close to signing the defender back in January, but the deal fell through as a result of him sustaining a back injury.

Following a fresh update though, it looks like the full-back could now be on the move once again, with an exit edging ever closer.

The Latest: Longelo departure likely

Asked by a fan on Twitter why Longelo wasn’t involved in West Ham’s Europa Conference League match-day squad against Viborg on Thursday, ExWHUemployee replied:

“Soon to leave the club I think.”

The Verdict: Keep him

Whilst Longelo hasn’t got any experience playing at the highest level, David Moyes should think about keeping him for the season ahead.

The Scotsman has so far failed to sign a new left-back in the market, leaving Aaron Cresswell as the only available option on that flank.

Having registered five assists in 18 appearances for the U23s last season, Longelo would provide a more youthful option and cover for the Hammers veteran, so this should be a decision that is carefully reconsidered before the end of the month.
