Writing on Twitter, reliable club insider ExWHUemployee has dropped a behind the scenes claim about most recent signing Craig Dawson – who is yet to feature for David Moyes in a matchday squad.
Dawson, who has been omitted by the Hammers boss, was snapped up from Watford on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy – coming in as a last-minute transfer option following GSB’s failure to sign a new defender in the domestic-only window.
Should West Ham play Craig Dawson?
Dawson impressing Moyes
However, after putting pen to paper on a temporary move, Dawson has found game time at the London Stadium very difficult to come by – he is still yet to be picked for a matchday squad or even the Under-23s.
ExWHUemployee, shedding light on the situation through social media, has revealed that this isn’t due to any kind of bust up but simply because Moyes has better options.
Despite this, Dawson isn’t seen as a potential flop just yet, and apparently he is ‘impressing‘ the manager in training.
Transfer Tavern take
West Ham recently had an injury scare to defender Angelo Ogbonna, and with more potential knocks likely given the heavily congested and gruelling fixture calendar, Moyes and co will be glad to have a back up option doing well behind the scenes.
Originally described as a ‘strange‘ move by GSB and the club, signing Dawson could pay off as a wise decision.
Training and impressing, Dawson’s presence could be a huge boost for West Ham, especially with his experience in the top flight after playing in the division for both Watford and West Brom.
