Writing a four-word message on Twitter, reliable West Ham United insider ExWHUemployee has lifted the lid on another absence which has gone rather unnoticed – with Manuel Lanzini having missed Wolves after picking an injury in training.
ExWHUemployee lifts lid on injury absence
Lanzini has barely started under manager David Moyes in the Premier League over 2020/2021, with his only highlight arguably being a sensational wondergoal away to Tottenham Hotspur earlier this season.
As West Ham United favourite and star player Declan Rice missed the game through a knee injury, with breaking news emerging on his absence the afternoon before a win at Wolves, the Argentine’s absence went unnoticed as a result.
Moyes did not appear to comment on Lanzini’s knock to the press before or even after the trip to Molineux, with Ex lifting the lid on why he missed an important win and did not even appear on the substitute’s bench.
Writing on social media, in reply to a supporter asking where the 28-year-old was, the club insider stated: “Injured with a knock“.

Fellow Irons club source Claret & Hugh backed up this report, with the outlet also claiming it was a knock in training which forced the Argentine to miss out.
Coming after the announcement of Rice’s serious knee injury, which could potentially result in him missing the Euros, it’s arguably unsurprising that news of Lanzini’s knock flew under the radar.
Time will tell when he is able to return to action, but West Ham supporters may be more concerned by the timeframes of Rice and fellow star Angelo Ogbonna.
