West Ham United: Fans react as Craig Dawson signs on loan from Watford

It was rumoured for quite a while that West Ham United would be signing Craig Dawson from Watford and after the club finally announced his arrival, a lot of the fan base took to social media to react to the news.
The Irons tweeted out that they ‘are pleased to announce the signing of defender Craig Dawson on a season-long loan from Watford.’
The 30-year-old has a wealth of experience, especially in the Premier League – he has played 182 games in the top tier. The Guardian were reporting that he was going to sign on a permanent deal, at a price tag of no more than £4 million. However, the moe is a loan deal and this looks like a very sensible decision from the club.
They can now see the player first-hand and decide whether they think he is good enough and that it a much less risky move than splashing some cash on him. The reaction from a lot of the fan base is very mixed, some understandably think it is a sensible move, whilst others would have hoped for more of a big-name signing.

Genuinely think this isnt even a bad signing? Experienced Premier League centre back, will be solid with Og and Cress in the back 3

Welcome Dawson ⚒

Well the only good thing I can take from this signing is that it’s a loan and not permanent. The manager & fans let down once again by an owner who failed to secure the top targets.

On a loan this is sensible for all parties. Good luck Craig. The custodians of this club now have a duty to fulfill the most recent promises they made when they sold an upcoming academy youngster in September

No offence to Dawson and best of luck to him, but when you compare our transfers to the likes of Everton, Villa and Newcastle our Board are a disgrace – this isn’t what we were promised when we left Upton Park? 😡🤷🏻♂️
