As West Ham United succumbed to a 1-0 defeat against Chelsea on Saturday in the race for an unprecedented Champions League spot, many Hammers supporters weren't impressed with Said Benrahma's cameo off the bench, taking particular aim at a wayward attempted shot in the final few minutes.

The match itself was marred by the controversial dismissal of defender Fabian Balbuena for following through on Ben Chilwell after clearing the ball, a decision which Moyes described as 'rank' and 'rotten'.

However, numerous supporters still took issue with Benrahma and criticised the forward after an attempted shot from distance in added time.

The Algerian hasn't been given much of a chance by Moyes to make an impact recently and hasn't started a league game for the Irons since their 3-3 draw with Arsenal last month.

Chasing the game, Moyes brought on both the 25-year-old and Manuel Lanzini to insert some attacking impetus after Timo Werner gave the away side a first half lead. Only having 21 minutes to put his stamp on proceedings, Benrahma's introduction resulted in an ambitious long range effort in the 92nd minute which sailed over the bar.

Some West Ham fans on social media appeared to take aim at this decision to shoot due to the many options ahead of Benrahma, including left-back Ben Johnson in acres of space on the overlap.

As well as this, the former Brentford winger was among the lowest-rated players in the squad on SofaScore, managing a 6.3/10 rating whilst winning just two of his seven ground duels against the west Londoners.

These West Ham fans showed their disgust on Twitter, with one even labelling Benrahma a "donkey" in frustration.
