Before the Premier League started a formal investigation into West Bromwich Albion and their deal to omit Robert Snodgrass from their match against West Ham United, plenty of Hammers had words to say when ExWHUemployee shared news of the agreement on Twitter.
The reliable club insider, who let supporters know that GSB’s non-playing deal for Snodgrass was the reason for his absence, had many Irons talking before reports emerged that the Premier League had commenced enquiries surrounding a potential breach of competition law (BBC).
Snodgrass left east London for the Hawthorns at the start of January, with the Scotsman putting pen to paper on a two-year deal following his four-year stay at West Ham (Sky Sports).
He made 86 appearances for the club, scoring eleven goals and assisting 17 more (West Ham United official), with GSB allegedly brokering a deal that meant he would not to feature against his former side on Tuesday evening, something which goes against Premier League rules.
When first hearing this development, plenty of Irons had words to say – find all of their verdicts on down below.
West Ham fans react to Snodgrass agreement
“Makes perfect sense. We would have made them wait for him until after this fixture without this condition, no doubt”
“pahahaha GSB are massive”
“I’m genuinely shocked we’ve had the foresight to do this.”
“Ideal, good move from the owners”
