Writing on Twitter, West Ham United co-chairman David Gold dropped a somewhat bizarre message for supporters – simply stating ‘thank you‘ when digging up a past tweet slating the Irons’ form last season.
Part of the divisive GSB ownership at West Ham, Gold appears to have not done himself any favours with his latest move on social media, which appears as a potentially sarcastic take surrounding their change in fortunes under David Moyes over 2020/2021 compared to 2019/2020.
Indeed, a supporter messaged Gold last year taking aim at the West Ham ownership for their form during that time – with the co-chairman now digging up the tweet and sharing it with a simple ‘thank you’ message.
Seen as a potential swipe, many Hammers weren’t too pleased with the ’embarrassing’ tweet – flocking to have their say.
A lot of supporters simply couldn’t believe what Gold said and, as a result, drew up verdicts of their own in response.
