# West Ham ready to ward off big interest with new offer for impressive star

**Not an awful lot has gone right for the West Ham United fans in the Transfer Tavern this season, who’ve watched their side’s move to the London Stadium prove a thoroughly unhappy one.**

Still, one of the few bright sparks this season has been the form of Michail Antonio, so recent [reports linking him](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/2526838/chelsea-transfer-news-michail-antonio-west-ham-united/) with a surprise move to London rivals Chelsea proved very unwelcome indeed.

Which is exactly why our east London locals are now toasting a story from [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11685/10717210/west-ham-not-interested-in-selling-michail-antonio-8211-sky-sources), one [claiming](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11685/10717210/west-ham-not-interested-in-selling-michail-antonio-8211-sky-sources) that the Hammers are prepared to stand strong over the 26-year-old.

Such is his importance to Slaven Bilic’s team, the Irons are [reportedly](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11685/10717210/west-ham-not-interested-in-selling-michail-antonio-8211-sky-sources) ready to offer him improved terms in order to ward off any interest in the versatile former Nottingham Forest ace.

He only penned a new four-year deal at the club in July, though it’s [believed](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11685/10717210/west-ham-not-interested-in-selling-michail-antonio-8211-sky-sources) he could be in line for a new deal already should he continue his good form into the second half of the campaign.

Antonio has notched eight goals this season from a variety of positions and our local West Ham fans are desperately hoping they can keep a hold of him going forward.
