# Newcastle United: Toby Cudworth reveals Arnaut Danjuma transfer news

**90min journalist Toby Cudworth has now revealed some significant [Newcastle United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/newcastle-united-news/) transfer news on Arnaut Danjuma.**

### The Lowdown: West Ham interest

West Ham United have been [strongly linked](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/west-ham-news/west-ham-arnaut-danjuma-villarreal-moyes-romano-latest-transfer-news-rumours-updates/) with a move for Danjuma over the last few days, although it is proving difficult for the Hammers to sign the Villarreal winger.

They, alongside the Magpies, have [reportedly](https://as.com/futbol/primera/danjuma-a-un-paso-de-la-premier-por-40-millones-n/) ‘bid the strongest’ for him and he is thought to cost in the region of €40m (£34.6m).

The Irons have been struggling to agree personal terms with the player, [reports](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/west-ham-news/west-ham-arnaut-danjuma-villarreal-moyes-romano-latest-transfer-news-rumours-updates/) Fabrizio Romano, potentially opening the door for the Tyneside outfit.

### The Latest: Danjuma update

Taking to Twitter, [Cudworth](https://twitter.com/Toby_Cudworth/status/1542530940341190656) has now revealed that although Eddie Howe would like to sign a winger, Danjuma ‘won’t’ be coming to St. James’ Park despite the struggles in east London:

*“A lot of people wondering if NUFC will move for Arnaut Danjuma with WHUFC backing off. Understanding is that Eddie Howe wants a winger, yes, but it won’t be him.”*

### The Verdict: Mistake

We feel it will be a blow if the North East club miss out on the signing of Danjuma.

A player that has [played under Howe](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arnaut-danjuma/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/355861/plus/0?saison=&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=10976) before, he has come on leaps and bounds since leaving AFC Bournemouth, managing 16 goals and a further four assists in both La Liga and the UEFA Champions League combined last season ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arnaut-danjuma/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/355861/plus/0?saison=&verein=1050&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=)).

His impressive performances abroad have caught the eye of former Premier League striker Kevin Phillips, who has branded him a ‘[nightmare for defenders](https://www.footballinsider247.com/danjuma-is-a-rare-talent-who-can-dazzle-for-liverpool-after-inside-sources-transfer-update-pundit/)‘.

Nonetheless, it seems as if the Tynesiders will now have to move on to other targets, with [Noni Madueke](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/newcastle-united-news/newcastle-united-interested-psv-noni-madueke-transfer-news-magpies/) and [Moussa Diaby](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/newcastle-united-news/everton-transfer-news-calvert-lewin-diaby-leverkusen/) the latest names to be mentioned as potential wide signings.
