# West Ham: ExWHUemployee teases big loan moves

**West Ham United are in talks with multiple ‘out of favour’ players at big clubs over potential loan deals, according to [ExWHUemployee](https://www.westhamzone.com/news/exwhuemployee-on-west-ham-united-loan-moves/).**

### The lowdown

West Ham have made three signings so far this summer ahead of what may be another hectic European campaign.

They’ve spent £31.5million on Rennes centre-back Nayef Aguerd, £9.59million on Swansea midfielder Flynn Downes and £8.37million on goalkeeper Alphonse Areola (via [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/west-ham-united/transfers/verein/379)).

Their [imminent move for Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/jul/25/gianluca-scamacca-flying-to-london-for-west-ham-medical-filip-kostic) is about to take their spending to around the £85million mark, and they’ve yet to bank any money from sales.

### The latest

ExWHUemployee, writing on his Patreon page (via [West Ham News](https://www.westhamzone.com/news/exwhuemployee-on-west-ham-united-loan-moves/)) lifted the lid on the negotiations and the profile of the players involved.

“Talks remain ongoing for a couple of loan deals,” he wrote.

“Some of the players are out of favour at bigger clubs and looking to kickstart their career.”

### The verdict

West Ham have previous for doing these kind of deals.

In the summer of 2021, they brought in Areola from Paris Saint-Germain, with Gianluigi Donnarumma and Keylor Navas competing for the no. 1 spot and severely restricting his opportunities.

Only a matter of months earlier, they had temporarily signed Jesse Lingard from Manchester United after he watched [the first half of the campaign from the sidelines at Old Trafford](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jesse-lingard/leistungsdaten/spieler/141660/plus/0?saison=2020).

Areola has since joined permanently, but Lingard returned to Man. United before sealing a move to Nottingham Forest as a free agent.

And so it will be intriguing to see who the loan targets are, and whether West Ham are able to negotiate an option or obligation to buy.
