Aaron Ramsey could rediscover his best form by taking a pay cut and joining West Ham United, according to Barry Fry.

Just two years on from making the switch to Juventus, the Italian giants are looking to offload the Wales international midfielder, with West Ham reported to be in pole position for his signature.

However, the former Arsenal man's reported £400,000-per-week wages could prove to be a stumbling block when it comes to finding a way out of Italy.

West Ham boss David Moyes is looking to bolster his squad after leading the Hammers into the Europa League thanks to a stunning campaign which saw the club break their record points tally in the Premier League.

It has been reported that Ramsey is among those Moyes is keeping a close eye on during the transfer window, although West Ham could face competition from Crystal Palace and Arsenal.

Peterborough United director of football Fry feels London Stadium could be the perfect destination for Ramsey.

Speaking exclusively to The Transfer Tavern, he said: "If Aaron Ramsey wants to play in the Premier League, he might think, 'West Ham are on the up, it looks a lovely club which is run properly with decent people in charge, there's a great manager and great team spirit. It looks as though they're having a go and they want to get into the Champions League. I'll have some of that'.

"I can understand the player wanting to come and if he does, he'll have to take a cut. It would be worth taking a pay-cut because he would enjoy his football at West Ham."
