It seems that West Ham may have a very busy transfer window this summer and the fanbase are reacting to the latest news which reports that David Moyes remains interested in creative midfielder Ross Barkley, via The Mirror.
Moyes knows the player well, as he brought him into the Everton squad that he was managing at the time, and he clearly wants a reunion to help the Hammers become a team fighting higher up the league in the next campaign.
Would you like to see Barkley at West Ham?
In the Premier League this season Barkley has struggled for game time as he has only made 13 appearances, however he has shown glimpses of the quality that made Chelsea sign him in the first place as he has managed on average 2.2 shots, 1.5 key passes and 1.4 successful dribbles per game, per WhoScored. When it comes to key passes, Barkley would be joint first if you compare him with the Hammers squad, so could add some great creative intent.
He has also made 33 appearances for England, scoring six goals, per Transfermarkt, so does come with great pedigree, hence why several fans seem to be happy to be linked with the ex-Toffee.
However, there are others who are a little more sceptical about the signing, perhaps due to his severe lack of game time since his move to Stamford Bridge and the fact that he is consistently inconsistent. Indeed, one even suggested they would “rather have Jordan Hugill back” – the QPR loanee failed to impress at the Irons, making just three cameo appearances (Transfermarkt), which suggests Barkley may not be a popular addition at all with some.
Here is what they say following the news:
West Ham boss David Moyes has confirmed reported interest in Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley and has also been linked with a new move for Michy Batshuayi.

Ross Barkley’s link to West Ham brings a lot of criticism, however, he would be a good addition to the squad in that he brings another solid option as well as a strong standard of experience at this level. Barkley would be a good season long loan option for West Ham next season.

Barkley would be a good fit, but it will come down to our poor offer for him and allow wether he wants a higher wage not playing, or playing week in week out on a pack of sweets and access to the WiFi password

Please god may this not be true. Both trouble, both the sort of players we need to avoid. This is old West Ham, buying ‘names’ who are on ridiculous wages and produced very little on the pitch. I’d rather have Jordan Hugil back.

Imagine Soucek Rice and Barkley. Anyone that isn’t excited by that doesn’t know football. I doubt we would get him but that would be an amazing midfield to build round. Personally fed up of seeing us linked with attackers though. Need good defenders

We don’t want there has beens we need to buy young hungry players who want to play for the club and badge ⚒

Would prefer Ruben Loftus-Cheek & Tammy Abraham since they both pushed down the pecking order by recent signings but Barkley could be epic infront of Rice & Soucek.
Batshuayi is a NO for me. Had his chance to join several times & has failed in Prem when given the chance.
