According to Fichajes, West Ham are interested in signing Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

The Lowdown: West Ham continue to surge

Over the last year or so, the Hammers have gone from strength to strength under David Moyes, qualifying for the Europa League and now thriving in it.

They sit fourth in the Premier League this term and, as they continue to challenge the traditional 'big six' more and more, they will be looking at a higher quality of player in the transfer window.

The Latest: Hammers eye Perisic

As per this latest report, the east London outfit are interested in signing Croatia international Perisic.

It has been suggested he could put pen to paper on another deal at the San Siro, but both the Hammers and top flight rivals Everton will allegedly be in the race for his signature if he does opt to run his contract down.

The Verdict: Top quality

Perisic has a wonderful pedigree in European football. With 131 club goals to his name throughout his career (Transfermarkt). He has turned out for a number of top clubs, including Bayern Munich, Wolfsburg, Borussia Dortmund and current outfit Inter.

The latter's former boss, Luciano Spalletti, even called the winger "incredible" when he was the club, hailing his work rate and claiming he has "the physique of a horse". (Sempre Inter)

"Even after training is over, he works out on his own for about an hour, hour and a fifteen minutes. I’ll repeat, an incredible professional both physically and mentally," Spalletti said.

He has also appeared in a World Cup final for his country, and while he is approaching the end of his career at 32, a free transfer for a player of such immense top level experience could be a fantastic addition to Moyes' squad as they look to push on to bigger and better things.
