West Ham United are 'preparing' to make a new offer for Fenerbache star Atilla Szalai as Turkish journalist Ömer Faruk Özcan shares a 'special' update.

The Lowdown: Moyes makes transfer demand...

Ahead of their blockbuster opening Premier League clash against champions Man City on Sunday, Hammers head coach David Moyes has issued a transfer demand to the West Ham board before this summer window's closure.

Speaking candidly to media, the Scotsman suggested his side need to do more while they still can as he sets his sights on even more new additions.

This is despite sealing deals for Nayef Aguerd, Flynn Downes, Alphonse Areola, Gianluca Scamacca and Maxwel Cornet with reports suggesting that another centre-half signing is on the cards.

The Latest: Turkish reporter shares Szalai news...

Taking to social media, Turkish reporter Ozcan now has some news for West Ham supporters involving mooted target Szalai.

Sharing a 'special' update, he claims the east Londoners are 'preparing' a fresh offer for the Hungary international after their initial bid was rejected.

He explained (via Twitter):

"SPECIAL | West Ham United offered Fenerbahce 8 million Euros for Attila Szalai, but the Yellow-Navy Blues rejected this offer.

West Ham are preparing to make a new offer for Szalai."

The Verdict: Make the move?

If head of recruitment Rob Newman can negotiate a reasonable transfer fee for the 24-year-old, he could come in as a very astute option.

Revered for his 'amazing' Fenerbahce partnership with ex-teammate Kim Min-jae last season, Szalai has also attracted praise for his hard work - potentially making him an attractive choice for West Ham and Moyes in particular.
