Serie A giants Napoli are expecting a fresh West Ham United bid to sign their star midfielder Piotr Zielinski, according to reports out of Italy.

The Lowdown: Moyes preparing...

After his side fell slightly short of Europa League qualification for the 2022/2023 campaign, Irons head coach David Moyes will be eager to ensure West Ham are reinforced in as many key areas as possible.

The new Premier League season commences next weekend and the east Londoners perhaps have the toughest task of any top-flight team on matchday one, as English champions Manchester City travel to the London Stadium on Sunday, when Moyes' side will be well and truly tested.

Taking this into account, it's reasonable to assume that Moyes and West Ham chiefs will want to seal at least one major target before that point, and some potentially significant news has come to light regarding Zielinski.

The Latest: West Ham bid expected for Zielinski...

Italian media claim that a new Hammers offer is expected for the Poland international.

Newspaper La Repubblica (via Calcio Napoli 24) claimed that Luciano Spalletti's side are awaiting a new West Ham bid to sign Zielinski, and while their current proposal is insufficient, the Azzurri 'expects a new relaunch'.

They add that a bid in the region of €40m (£34m) would be needed to convince Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis to do business.

The Verdict: Crucial next stage?

The 28-year-old could add a degree of class and creativity to Moyes' midfield, especially considering his comparisons to the likes of Kevin De Bruyne.

Going by this latest report, the next week may well be crucial in West Ham's bid to sign Napoli's 'extraordinary' star, and it will be interesting to see whether De Laurentiis will green-light Zielinski's exit at £34m.
