West Ham United supporters may have been handed a significant update as the east Londoners continue their push to sign Watford winger Ismaila Sarr.

The Lowdown: West Ham in transfer talks...

As backed by reliable sources, West Ham have held talks over the Senegal international for David Moyes after they completed their first major summer addition in Nayef Aguerd from Rennes.

ExWHUemployee, an in-the-know Irons source, recently stated that discussions have indeed taken place over the prospective signing of Sarr after Watford's relegation from the Premier League.

This comes as Moyes and co seek to add more incomings to the Hammers' squad, ideally 'at least' six, with Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth tipping them to be 'very busy'.

The Latest: West Ham 'prepared to pay' Sarr price...

There has now been a significant update regarding West Ham's pursuit of Sarr.

According to journalist Daniel Moroney, who covers Watford news for the likes of Off The Ball and Back Page Football, the Irons are now 'prepared to pay' the 24-year-old's asking price.

He explained (via Twitter): "I understand that West Ham are prepared to pay #Watford’s asking price (£28m) and personal terms won’t be a problem."

The Verdict: Promising...

West Ham supporters may well be hopeful this claim eventually comes to fruition.

There is little denying that Sarr has the ability to seriously bolster Moyes' forward line, with former England goalkeeper Ben Foster calling the African star (and former Watford team-mate) 'scary'.

As per WhoScored, when fit and available last season, the 24-year-old was one of the Hornets' biggest key threats in the final third, averaging the joint-most attempts at goal per 90 in their squad (1.8). Sarr also proved to be a real handful for opponents as none of his team-mates attracted more fouls per game than his 2.1.

For around £28m, West Ham could well secure a real asset in the Senegal winger.
