West Ham United have held talks over the signing of Watford forward Emmanuel Dennis as reliable journalist Adam Leventhal of The Athletic shares an update.

The Lowdown: Hammers keep moving...

The signings of Nayef Aguerd, Flynn Downes, Alphonse Areola and Gianluca Scamacca could be followed by even more new additions this summer as West Ham and head of recruitment Rob Newman keep moving.

It is believed that Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski and Serbia international Filip Kostic remain on the radar of Hammers boss David Moyes, who is looking to seriously upgrade his squad ahead of the 2022/2023 Premier League season.

The Latest: West Ham hold Dennis talks...

Now, as per The Athletic and reporter Leventhal, West Ham have in fact held talks over signing Dennis from relegated side Watford this summer.

Indeed, the reliable journalist claims 'discussions with key officials have taken place' over a move for the 24-year-old, who is also of interest to Nottingham Forest, Fulham and Everton.

The Verdict: Make the move?

Finishing 2021/22 as Watford's best player by average match rating, and top goal scorer with ten, it's safe to say West Ham would be landing the Hornets' most crucial player.

The Nigeria international also averaged their joint-most shots at goal per 90 last year whilst racking up six assists on top of his goals, highlighting his real threat in the forward areas.

Dennis also 'expects to leave' and could be made available for a fee in the region of £20million ($24m), potentially opening the door for Moyes and co to make a move for the 'beast'.
