According to a report by the Daily Mirror, West Ham United are now among the clubs eyeing a summer transfer bid for Fulham loanee Joachim Andersen, and it is believed the Cottagers know they stand little chance of keeping him this summer.

Moyes now eyeing West Ham bid

The 24-year-old has impressed many Premier League clubs with his form in west London, including the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.

Andersen is also keen on staying in the English top flight according to the Daily Mirror, and West Ham have now joined the multitude of clubs eyeing a summer bid for the Lyon defender.

David Moyes is apparently eager to strengthen his squad ahead of what is hoped to be an unprecedented Champions League campaign next season, and the Scotsman could now turn to Andersen as a marquee recruit.

Transfer Tavern take

His parent club Lyon currently value him at around £20m and the Irons will face stern competition for his signature, but we believe he may well be worth it.

The 6 foot 3 (1.92m) centre-back has started 27 Premier League matches under Scott Parker this season and has averaged the sixth-most clearances per game in the entire division (WhoScored).

He has marked himself out as a solid top-flight defender with plenty of years ahead of him, and at a reported £20m, he could come as an absolute steal for GSB and the Hammers.

Fulham legend Tony Gale also lauded Andersen as an 'absolutely sensational' player (fulhamfc.com), with all these credentials pointing towards a potentially brilliant signing if West Ham can pull it off.
