Fans of West Ham United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which ExWHUemployee provided an update on the Hammers’ reported transfer target, Boulaye Dia.
According to a recent report by Eurosport, West Ham have made contact with Stade Reims regarding a move for the centre-forward, with the club reportedly being prepared to offer up to £15 million for the 23-year-old.
The £10.8 million-rated man has highly impressed in Ligue 1 so far this season, bagging 12 goals and providing one assist over his 18 league appearances, averaging a WhoScored match rating of 7.03 – ranking him as the best performer in a side who currently occupy 15th place in the French top flight.
However, ExWHUemployee then claimed on Twitter that David Moyes’ side have had ‘no bid accepted’ for the Senegal international and that his agent is ‘speaking to other clubs’, before going on to state that West Ham could ‘still go back in for him’.
In reaction to the West Ham insider’s post, fans of the Hammers flocked to have their say on the matter, with many left furious at the club’s apparent lack of action, and one supporter in particular gutted to miss out on what he called ‘Moyes’ number one target‘.
Will West Ham sign Dia?
So, what exactly did these West Ham United fans have to say in reaction to ExWHUemployee’s update on Boulaye Dia?
“Just get the deal done …. is it just us that always seems to fart and dither around with disrespectful offers and others more professional and astute that just get deals over the line or is this Sullivan only dealing with a certain agent again #GSBOUT”
“Worst owners in the league”
“Why do we do this every window? Why do we have to drag out everything, when other clubs can get deals done in days?”
“Just accept it now guys and make peace with that we aren’t going to sign anyone high profile and it will be someone you probably never heard of, offered to us by one of Sullivan’s trusted agents. This is West Ham, this is tin pot.”
“All this effort from Moyes and the squad to get us in a fairly good position. We need a couple of players to bolster the paper-thin squad and the owners are back to doing what they do best. So frustrating.”
“‘Moyes’ number 1 target’ you know…”
“This club kills me”
“Not happening then”
