Speaking to Antena Sport, via Romanian news outlet Sport.ro, the owner of FC FCSB, formerly Steaua Bucharest, has sent a promising four-word message to West Ham United – confirming he will let go of Darius Olaru for £8.8 million amid claims GSB are reportedly ‘very close‘ to signing him.
An exclusive report from Sport.ro, published on Monday morning, stated that the Hammers are nearing their second January signing in promising young midfielder Olaru.
Olaru to West Ham?
Indeed, this emerged claim reveals that the 22-year-old playmaker is hot on West Ham’s radar and close to a Premier League move – with the news outlet insisting that they are ‘about to sell‘.
The price tag was thought to be around £6.1 million, but an update from Antena Sport via Sport.ro has relayed that FC FCSB financier Gigi Becali actually wants around £8.8m.
Whilst this could be seen as a setback, Becali has reassured West Ham with a four-word message, going on to confirm that, if GSB pay this price, ‘I will sell Olaru‘.
Transfer Tavern take
Little is known about the youngster, but he could become a similar signing to first January acquisition Frederik Alves – who David Moyes described as one for the future with great potential (West Ham United).
Hammers supporters will debatably have mixed opinions on these reports, especially considering their priority should be a target man, but they could also be holding hope that GSB land a star in the making.
Time will tell whether the Irons pursue with a bid, but if they do, it should be enough to secure them their second signing of the window.
