According to Sky Sports transfer reporter Kaveh Solhekol, GSB have gifted West Ham the green light to sign RB Leipzig striker Hwang Hee-chan – and ‘the board are happy‘ to get a deal done but the ‘final decision‘ now rests with David Moyes.
Sky Sports, backing up previous claims in the media, have revealed that talks are ongoing over potentially bringing the South Korean to east London – coming as Said Benrahma’s loan deal has been converted into a permanent one (Sky Sports).
GSB gift green light for Hwang, Moyes to have final say
The Bundesliga attacker has barely featured for his new side since transferring from sister club RB Salzburg in the summer, playing just 136 minutes of league action in total (WhoScored), but he could now be handed a way out in the form of a transfer to West Ham this month.
Indeed, the Hammers are apparently in talks to sign him, and GSB would allegedly be ‘happy‘ to do a deal and have given the green light for his potential signing as a result.
This update, perhaps inferring that the Irons could now be close to a forward signing at long last, hinges on manager Moyes despite the board’s willingness to snap up the 34-cap international (Transfermarkt).
Solhekol, speaking to Sky, claims Moyes will have the ‘final decision‘ on a move – with finances apparently not being an issue.
Transfer Tavern take
The Scotsman is reportedly cautious when it comes to making signings, and the worldwide pandemic means he cannot go and scout these targets himself (Sky Sports via Football Daily).
He is also being offered ‘a lot‘ of strikers, as per Solhekol, but only time will tell whether West Ham go through with this deal if they get a seal of approval from their manager.
