Writing on Twitter, talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook has claimed that West Ham could still sign Bournemouth striker Joshua King with The Cherries now willing to accept a ‘much lower fee‘ – putting GSB and co ‘back into the equation‘ as this news emerges.
West Ham hope for King
King, who has been heavily linked with a move to the London Stadium recently, with talkSPORT reporting that David Moyes was working on a deal ‘behind the scenes’ and that the player was keen on a move. That reported move could now still be on the move before deadline day.
Indeed, Crook believes that the Bournemouth are now willing to accept a cheaper price for King – with a swap deal for Southampton striker Shane Long also apparently interesting the south coast club.
The journalist has also shared hope for West Ham, going on to say that they could be ‘back in the equation’, alongside Everton, during the last few hours of the transfer window.
Transfer Tavern take
Described as an ‘exciting’ striker by Football Insider pundit Noel Whelan recently, despite him barely playing this season with just five Championship starts so far this campaign, he could be a late coup for West Ham as the club need to sign a striker to replace Sebastian Haller.
Time will tell whether they do take advantage, but this update could mean late hope for the Hammers.
