According to Tuttosport, via calciomercato.com, West Ham United and Tottenham are eyeing Sampdoria midfielder Mikkel Damsgaard and hold an interest ‘above all’ – with GSB now reportedly keeping tabs, meaning they could potentially swoop for him.
Damsgaard, who has displayed promise in Serie A since his move from FC Nordsjaelland last year, is now attracting GSB’s interest – and they could swoop for him in the summer.
Indeed, Tuttosport (via calciomercato.com) claim they are eyeing him with an interest in the ‘future’, alongside the likes of Juventus and Spurs who also see him as a player with real potential, judging by this report.
This update backs up a recent claim from Club Doria (via Sport Witness), who revealed earlier this month that there is interest from West Ham, but if the club do wish to land this rising talent, they may have to significantly invest.
Calciomercato report that his value has tripled since the move to Sampdoria, with Damsgaard now worth around €20 million (£17.65m).
However, judging by his past plaudits, the 20-year-old is worth consideration – with former manager Flemming Pedersen (via TUTTOmercatoWEB) likening him to Champions League winner and Danish footballing icon Michael Laudrup last year.
The Italian press are already describing him as a ‘little gem’ (Club Doria via Sport Witness), and they claim Sampdoria will not want to lose him as West Ham reportedly lurk.
