According to a report by The Independent, West Ham United are likely to compete with Borussia Dortmund and other Premier League clubs for the signature of VFB Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic this summer.

West Ham enter race for Kalajdzic

Manager David Moyes wants to bolster his attacking options after an unexpected season of overachievement, which has even come after the club's failure to sign a needed striker in January.

Kalajdzic, who is seen as a hot property in the Bundesliga, could be at the centre of major interest this summer as Dortmund and other clubs in England keep tabs on the Austrian forward.

Standing at a towering 6 foot 6, his height hasn't been the only draw for clubs across Europe, with the 23-year-old target man bagging 13 goals and three assists in 16 Bundesliga starts this season (WhoScored).

Transfer Tavern take

Given the striker's 'popularity', according to Independent journalist Miguel Delaney, a full sale looks 'far more likely' despite West Ham investigating the option of a loan to buy purchase.

This apparently puts Dortmund in pole position for his signature, but a permanent bid could depend on whether or not the Hammers qualify for Europe at the end of the season.

A hugely promising striker, he is even garnering a reputation as 'the next Erling Haaland' due to his rapid emergence at similarly young age - but only time will tell whether West Ham end up signing him this summer.
