Flocking to Twitter, many West Ham United fans have erupted over an update involving West Bromwich Albion ace Matheus Pereira - with ExWHUemployee dropping news.

The 25-year-old, who was one of the Baggies' standout players over 2020/2021 in the Premier League, has been linked to West Ham as an alternative to previous top target Jesse Lingard.

Claret & Hugh originally claimed that Lingard was one of manager David Moyes' priority signings this summer window, but reports suggest that a deal for the Man United is looking more and more unlikely.

West Ham, as a result, have turned to Pereira as they aim to bolster the attacking midfield position and provide an injection of quality in the final third.

ExWHUemployee, writing in a Patreon Q&A, when asked for the situation surrounding both Pereira and goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, has claimed that talks are 'ongoing' for both players.

In reaction, some supporters have erupted with the majority hoping they sign him this summer.

Given he scored 11 Premier League goals last season from midfield and averaged more key passes per 90 (1.8) than any West Ham player (WhoScored), it's little wonder supporters are eager to see him come through the door.
