Flocking to Twitter, many West Ham United fans have been left excited by a transfer claim involving Borussia Monchengladbach striker Alassane Plea.

The Frenchman, who has bagged a career total of 86 goals, has become another attacker linked with a move to the London Stadium as manager David Moyes aims to bolster his options.

West Ham's boss has been trying to strengthen going forward as question marks hang over Michail Antonio's fitness record, with the 31-year-old missing 13 games last season through injury (Transfermarkt).

It is believed that landing a new striker was among his top priorities for this summer alongside the acquisition of a centre-half and attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard (Claret & Hugh).

However, they so far haven't landed any of the above, with goalkeeper Alphonse Areola being West Ham's only major summer signing so far.

Now, L'Equipe du soir (via Nabil Djellit) have brought news on the striker chase with Plea now 'in the sights' of Moyes and West Ham.

Flocking to this claim as their club allegedly eye a move for the 28-year-old, many Irons supporters have been left excited by the prospect of potentially landing him.

One supporter even called this update 'very promising' as they eagerly look out for any updates on attacking additions.
