Writing on social media, Turkish reporter Atakan Kurt has shared an ‘official offer‘ has been made by West Ham United to sign Besiktas striker Cyle Larin – with GSB reportedly bidding around €15 million (£13.2 million) to try and secure the forward.
West Ham offer for Larin revealed
Larin, who has bagged an impressive 15 goals in all competitions for Besiktas this season (Transfermarkt), proving to be a goalscoring beast under manager Sergen Yalcin, has reportedly attracted interest from West Ham for his efforts.
Indeed, journalist Kurt claims that GSB have lodged a £13.2m offer to sign the player this month, but he has also revealed the Turkish Super Lig side responded with a ‘let’s talk at the end of the season‘.
Expanding on West Ham’s interest, the journalist also claims the offer was ‘refused’ by the player – with Larin apparently turning down GSB’s approach as their search for a forward takes yet another turn.
Transfer Tavern take
Standing at an imposing 6 foot 2, the striker has attracted praise in the past from Ballon d’Or winner and former AC Milan star Ricardo Kaka – with the Brazilian explaining how he was a ‘big surprise’ for his prolific second season with Orlando City SC when they played together (MLS).
However, while he could have been a cheaper option for the Irons, it appears the transfer may be a no-go – but journalist Kurt has revealed that West Ham made an approach as the striker search continues to bring up many names.
Time will tell whether they do manage to sign anyone before the deadline, but a new forward could be a necessity for the Hammers given their lack of natural choices in the squad.
