# West Ham United: Club insider tips GSB to land Bournemouth striker Josh King in January

**According to a report from [Claret & Hugh](https://www.claretandhugh.info/depressing-irons-news-creates-january-player-demand/), Bournemouth striker Josh King is on the list of January targets for West Ham as they eye a capable new forward – with the club insider now tipping David Moyes and GSB to land the Norwegian as a ‘[required](https://www.claretandhugh.info/depressing-irons-news-creates-january-player-demand/)‘ asset following the manager’s reveal of a [new injury to Michail Antonio.](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/news/west-ham-antonio-man-utd-19400753)**

King, who is reportedly being eyed by the Hammers as a suitable striking option, is currently valued at around [£11.7 million by Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joshua-king/nationalmannschaft/spieler/91059) – debatably falling into the ‘bargain’ category for January purchases.

### King tipped for January move

West Ham have also been linked with moves for [Olivier Giroud](https://www.hammers.news/transfer-news/talksport-reporter-shares-what-west-ham-boss-david-moyes-really-thinks-about-signing-chelsea-striker-olivier-giroud/) and [Moussa Dembele](https://talksport.com/football/786038/west-ham-man-utd-sign-lyon-moussa-dembele/) recently, but King would potentially represent a more astute and realistic purchase.

Now, after Moyes revealed a new injury to Antonio, club insiders Claret & Hugh have urged the club to land a new striker and King in particular – especially if the Hammers are to maintain their lofty place in the Premier League table.

### Transfer Tavern take

Described as the ‘[complete package](https://www.footballfancast.com/aston-villa-transfer-rumours/aston-villa-josh-king-bournemouth-premier-league-spurs-transfer-gossip-rumours-news)‘ by former Cherries boss Eddie Howe, King could indeed be a smart addition given his price tag and the notion that GSB may not want to invest too heavily in the winter.

A seasoned international also, amassing [51 caps for Norway](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joshua-king/nationalmannschaft/spieler/91059), the former Man United academy graduate boasts physical presence and proven Premier League experience.

Despite dropping down to the second tier with Bournemouth, King could still, at the very least, provide that extra attacking option from the bench if more injuries occur to the Hammers’ forward line.
