### **The Latest: Whelan’s claim**

Whelan, who now works behind-the-scenes for [Leeds](https://twitter.com/NoelDavidWhelan/status/1412024796783710211), believes the board at West Ham will be expecting a quick turnaround from this poor run of form, given the money they spent in the transfer market.

Speaking with [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/david-moyes-under-sack-pressure-at-west-ham-amid-new-claim-pundit/), the [former BBC Radio pundit](https://icdb.tv/stats/4247/Noel-Whelan) claimed:

“They’ve had a slow start to the season, as have a number of teams.

“I think David Moyes would’ve expected a better start – but it just goes to show how competitive the Premier League is.

“No results are going to go your way just because you’ve spent big money – that’s not how it works.

“Moyes is going to have to earn his corn by turning this season around and bedding these new players in.

“It’s a results-driven business. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done in the past. The board will be piling the pressure on to get results.

“They’ll want West Ham in a position which reflects the amount of money spent. They’ll want things turned around very quickly.”
