# West Ham: Hammers have no concerns over Declan Rice, says Dean Jones

**[West Ham United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/west-ham-news/) currently have no concerns over Declan Rice and his future at the club, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.**

### **The Lowdown: Interest in Rice**

The England international has been subject to heavy transfer interest in recent seasons and this summer was no different.

According to [Sports Mole](https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/man-utd/transfer-talk/news/man-united-chelsea-learn-new-asking-price-for-declan-rice_478871.html), Manchester United and Chelsea were interested in signing the youngster ahead of the current [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) season, but a £120m price-tag kept the suitors at bay.

Reliable journalist [Fabrizio Romano](https://www.caughtoffside.com/2022/09/11/chelsea-transfer-news-declan-rice-interest-explained/) recently claimed Rice was ‘simply untouchable’ but the player’s current deal does expire in [2024](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/declan-rice/profil/spieler/357662).

### **The Latest: Jones’ claim**

Jones believes West Ham aren’t worried about their new club captain right now as the player is fully invested and focused on giving his all to the Irons.

Speaking with [GiveMeSport](https://www.givemesport.com/88058845-west-ham-very-confident-60k-a-week-star-not-distracted-at-london-stadium), the transfer insider claimed:

“For now, I mean, West Ham are very confident about the place that Rice is in. He’s knuckling down and he trusts the process. He knows that any move for him will come along at the moment in which he actually needs it.”

### **The Verdict: Crucial to Hammers’ success**

The defensive midfielder has already demonstrated his importance to David Moyes’ side once again this season.

As per [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/29/Show/England-West-Ham), the [£62,000-a-week](https://salarysport.com/football/player/declan-rice/) maestro has averaged 3 tackles, 1.8 interceptions and 1.7 clearances per league game, also leading the team for the highest number of passes per 90 minutes.

At just 23 years old, Rice has already made [202 appearances for the Irons](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/declan-rice/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/357662), illustrating his incredible rise to stardom at such a young age.

Having played [every single minute](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/declan-rice/leistungsdaten/spieler/357662) of Premier League football so far this season, Rice is paramount to West Ham’s success and this update over his future should put supporters at ease for now at least.
