# West Ham United: ExWHUemployee backs Mohamed Bayo claims

**Reliable club insider ExWHUemployee, via the [West Ham Way Website,](https://www.thewesthamway.com/2021/12/15/exwhuemployee-update/) has now backed recent transfer news involving Clermont Foot striker Mohamed Bayo.**

### The Lowdown: West Ham interested…

As first reported by[le10sport,](https://le10sport.com/football/mercato/exclu-mercato-west-ham-part-a-lattaque-pour-un-buteur-de-ligue-1-579232) West Ham are interested in signing the colossal 6 foot 2 centre-forward for manager David Moyes as they now turn to Ligue 1 in search of a new striker.

An alternative to Michail Antonio has long been on the agenda for the club ever since former club record signing Sebastien Haller completed a move to Ajax last January.

Bayo, as per reports, is one of the names being targeted and that has now been reiterated by a very reliable source in ExWHUemployee.

### The Latest: Ex backs claims…

As per [The West Ham Way](https://www.thewesthamway.com/2021/12/15/exwhuemployee-update/), Ex backs le10sport’s original claim that West Ham are indeed interested – going on to say that the 23-year-old has been watched by the club.

The Ligue 1 frontman is apparently attracting their interest as they assess the whole of the French top flight for possible targets.

### The Verdict: Good candidate?

Scoring a career total of [48 goals so far,](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-bayo/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/594991) impressive numbers given his age, we believe Bayo shouldn’t be ruled out as a candidate.

He made waves in the French second division last season, playing a heavy hand in Clermont’s promotion to the top flight with [22 goals and eight assists in 38 appearances.](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-bayo/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/594991)

He’s continued in that vain in the big leagues, bagging [nine goals already](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-bayo/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/594991) so far, and he could only get better given his age.

He could also come to the London Stadium with great possible sell-on value, with the only caveat being his lack of experience in an extremely competitive division like the Premier League.
