# West Ham United: Fans buzz as David Gold confirms new contract for Joseph Anang

**Writing on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/davidgold/status/1339191675420352513), controversial West Ham United board member David Gold has confirmed ‘[fantastic news](https://twitter.com/HHDAGGER/status/1339219617949036547?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw)‘ – with promising young shot stopper Joseph Anang signing a new contract until the summer of 2024 as fans buzz over the announcement.**

Anang, who has displayed real potential in the youth set up at Rush Green, helped the young Hammers win a Premier League Division 2 title last season whilst being first choice in the Under-23s for the past two seasons.

As a reward, GSB have seen fit to tie him down for another four years, prompting many Irons to buzz at this confirmed announcement as the ‘only good thing David Gold has done’.

Becoming excited, these West Ham supporters feel this is a right move from the club – with some holding rare praise for the club’s hierarchy whilst still remaining firm on their stance it’s time for a change of leadership.
