# West Ham United: Fans react as GSB eye swoop for Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic

**According to an update by reliable club source ExWHUemployee, via [West Ham News](https://twitter.com/WHUFC_News/status/1324356625784856578), the Hammers hold a genuine interest in signing Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic – but nothing is close to happening at this stage.**

Jovic, who has found game time difficult to come by under Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu, could be on his way out in January with West Ham apparently eyeing a move.

Michail Antonio’s injury has left David Moyes short of striking options, even despite recent [claims over a fitness boost](https://greenstreethammers.com/2020/11/03/west-ham-double-injury-boost/) for the player, but it’s debatable that they need alternatives in the forward areas.

Now, as per this update by ExWHUemployee, Jovic is being considered as that needed back up – prompting many Hammers to react in response to this development.
