# West Ham United: Fans react as Jermaine Jenas and Gary Lineker tip Aaron Cresswell for England

**Speaking on Match of the Day, via [West Ham United’s official site](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/november/10-november/aaron-cresswell-must-be-knocking-door-england-recall), Jermaine Jenas and Gary Lineker tipped defender Aaron Cresswell to be knocking on the door for England – but many Hammers don’t agree with the ‘[embarrassing](https://twitter.com/marcwatts19/status/1326141419644465160?s=21)‘ verdicts.**

Cresswell, who has looked rejuvenated as part of a back three under David Moyes, as opposed to his usually [‘shocking](https://twitter.com/clewstom/status/1326134198952980481?s=21)‘ performances at left-back, is now being tipped for an international call up by the BBC pundits after his recent showings.

The Englishman enjoyed a solid outing again for the Hammers during their [1-0 victory over Fulham](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksKevZ88ePY&feature=onebox) at the weekend, prompting these calls to be a potential part of Gareth Southgate’s plans.

However, despite the 30-year-old seriously improving as a centre-back, many West Ham fans still don’t believe he should be anywhere near the England set up.

### Hammers blast Cresswell claims

> Absolutely no way, playing ok for West Ham is very very different to being international class. I agree his much improved but his England ship has sailed

> At left back hes shocking, or was last few seasons. At LCB hes made a great start tbf to him. I wouldn’t be picking him in my England team, though. No chance.

> Embarrassing. He’s been toilet for three full seasons. 8 games into a new season and he’s deserving of an England recall. Behave yourself…. [https://t.co/jRBmUoaOh7](https://t.co/jRBmUoaOh7)

> As a West Ham fan, he’s playing well and is our most improved player. But honestly, he should be no where near that England team
